Human Rights and Readings to come
Spring is in full effect these days, as we hit the last third of our course. We’re nearing the end, but there’s still lots to read, think about, and discuss!I appreciate everyone’s efforts to stay with the course, as I know it’s not easy. This week, we’ll tackle Human Rights. I have added a few projects to our Zotero and schedule page (and relegated two very interesting works to “further reading/not required,” even though it pained me to do so). I apologize in advance for what is likely to be far too much excitement on my part, as human rights is my favorite topic in every class. I will try to switch to decaf on Monday to preemptively tone myself tone, but please also feel free to lower your speaker volume as needed.
As per our class vote and discussion, our TBD topics have been decided as Week 10- Disability, Politics, and Digital Humanities, and Week 13- Return of the MIssing Mondays, where we’ll delve back into our reading and thinking from Weeks 3 and 4. Readings have been added to our class Zotero and our Schedule page for Week 10 (as usual, it’s far too much, so if you need to prioritize, please focus on the projects and the Brett, Hamraie, and Pirrone et al readings (along with as much of the Schalk as you can manage in the time available, as long as you promise you’ll read the entire book this summer). I have not added any additional readings to our Week 13 (but our facilitator will still have the right to add one if they wish).
If you’re celebrating any holidays this weekend, I hope they are good ones for you and yours!
