We had an intimate gathering Thursday night, and some thought-provoking discussion. We may choose (via class vote) to revisit this topic for one of our TBA classes at the end of the semester- we were only able to scratch the surface, and there’s so much more we could look at and discuss (doing so towards the end of the term might give us an interesting perspective as well, but we don’t have to decide today).

As a reminder, we’ll meet twice this week coming up- Monday for our lightning talks (check out the assignment sheet and make sure you’re ready!), and again on Wednesday to discuss the readings on Gender, Sexuality, and Politics. As you’re preparing your lightning talk, you may find one of the readings from Week 3, Hepworth and Church’s “Racism in the Machine” to be a useful read- while it is a more detailed and comparative review than you are expected to do, it still might help stimulate your thinking.
